Looking for something that little bit different to do with the kids these school holidays? You should definitely check out this stage show (and more) that are bound to keep the kids entertained. Australia’s national circus company, Circus Oz, has a brand new show tumbling into Queensland Performing Art Centre’s Playhouse from April 12-15.  If you miss out on Model Citizens, Circus Oz will then make its way to the Arts Centre Gold Coast for a performance on May 10. Audiences will be taken on a visually and emotionally charged journey by the multi-talented Circus Oz ensemble, exploring what it really means to be a Model Citizen in our ‘lucky’ country today.

PAW PATROL LIVE! RACE TO THE RESCUE

Based on the hit animated Nickelodeon TV series produced by Spin Master, PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue brings everybody’s favourite pups to the stage for an action-packed, high-energy, musical adventure. Young fans will love participating in this interactive adventure as the PAW Patrol Cheer Team, joining the pups as they travel to Adventure Bay, The Lookout, Seal Island, Farmer Yumi’s Farm and Jake’s Mountain. Visually stunning and with great up-tempo music, PAW Patrol Live! Race to the Rescue is a fantastic introduction to live theatre for young children.

NORTH BRISBANE EASTER FESTIVAL
Friday April 14 & Saturday April 16 from 10am – 9pm // Wests Mitchelton RLFC, 20 Prospect Rd, Mitchelton

The North Brisbane Easter Festival is a free family-friendly event for the community, happening this Easter weekend from 10am – 9pm on both days. There will be an inflatable soccer field, face painting, a bouncy castle, graffiti wall, music performances, a petting zoo, food venders, an Easter egg hunt and much more! Bring the kids to the Victoria Park Bistro for an eggs-citing Easter weekend! Featuring ten of the cast of the hit television series, Disney Channel Presents The Next Step – Live on Stage, a brand new show that offers fans a chance to get up close and personal with cast members from the global hit TV show. MATHAMAZING

Families can count on a fun day out with the opening of the new Mathamazing exhibition at Queensland Museum’s Sciencentre. Playfully connecting maths to everyday life, the 22 interactive activities — designed to inspire mathematical curiosity and confidence — add up to a whole lot of fun. Visitors will be able to challenge their lateral thinking and topology as they untangle themselves from handcuffs in the Manacle, solve giant floor puzzles, work their way through mazes, test their reaction time, work out the mass of an unknown object, build an arch that won’t collapse, and explore fractals on a touchscreen.

KIDS EXHIBITION // KATE BEYNON: FRIENDLY BEASTS

Kate Beynon draws on multiple visual traditions as the foundation for her artworks, including Western and Eastern comic books, mythology, animation, film, graffiti, calligraphy and fashion. In ‘Friendly Beasts’, Kate Beynon brings to life four hybrid figures who are inspired by mythological figures, deities, theatrical masks and supernatural creatures. Young visitors will meet these benevolent friends – Blue Shaman, Lotus Monkey, Tu-Dao Dog and Gorgon Girl – who each have their own traits and personalities and aim to promote imagination, creative expression and fun.
