POWERKIDS // LITTLE ARTISTS AT PLAY

This weekly event is suitable for kids aged to 5-years-old and features¬†the WeBe Robot Lab with theatre maker and performer Robbie O‚ÄôBrien, where it‚Äôs all about working together to design and play with your robot selves.¬†Surrounded by props and creative play stations, children are encouraged to let their imagination run wild!

VALENTINE’S DAY //¬†PLANETARIUM SHOW & DINNER

Head over to the Planetarium at 6pm for drinks and at 6.30pm enjoy a special Valentine’s Day evening show, “Romance under the Stars”, exploring some of the romantic legends associated with the night sky. This special viewing is followed by dinner at the Botanic Gardens Wedding and Function Centre at 7.30pm. Duration of the Skydome show is approximately 45 minutes.

KITE WISHES PROJECT¬†

Your kids will enjoy designing their own kite or be inspired by the koinobori fish template created by Brisbane artist Elysha Rei. They are then invited to return to the museum on Saturday February 24¬†¬†and send their wishes flying high as part of a kite procession from King George Square to Kisaragi-Sai Festival at the Roma Street Parklands.

ME MYSELFIE AND I

‚ÄėMe, Myselfie and I‚Äô is a Collection-based exhibition which explores representation of self and features video works by Takahiko Iimura, Phil Dadson, MiloŇ° Tomińá and a series of digital prints by Gordon Bennett. The exhibition also includes interactive making and multimedia artist projects that invite children to consider different ways of creating their own portraits.
