This winter you will be flying high as Bonnie Lythgoe Productions, Australia’s biggest family musical panto producer, and The Arts Centre Gold Coast stage one of the most magical musical pantos of them all The Adventures of Peter Pan and TinkerBell. This magical story will feature sumptuous glittering sets, spectacular effects, gorgeous fairy-tale costumes, fantastic song and dance numbers, infectious and riotous comedy magic and bags of audience participation. Saturday June 24 from 3pm – 4pm // Cavill Mall, Surfers Paradise

A collaboration between the Surfers Paradise Alliance, The Avenue and Variety Queensland, the Waiter’s Challenge will see waiters from more than 20 Surfers Paradise restaurants, cafés and bars race against the clock, and each other, as they tackle an obstacle course that will test their agility, accuracy and speed! Aiming to be crowned the fastest waiter in town, contestants will try not to spill a drop of wine or smash a single plate as they traverse tricky terrain in Cavill Mall. Each waiter will be sponsored with all funds raised going to the charity Variety Queensland, which helps disadvantaged and special needs children.

Ryan McNaught’s Brickman Experience is the largest touring exhibition of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere… and it’s heading to the Gold Coast for the school holidays! The exhibition is made up from more than 5 million LEGO® bricks and includes Ryan’s biggest ever Star Wars LEGO® build, a model Airbus A380, a quarter scale LEGO® Ferrari and the world’s largest LEGO® flower. For all the budding brickies who are feeling awe-inspired by Ryan’s work, the specially designed interactive master builder zones will give visitors the opportunity to build their own LEGO® creations.

These school holidays there will be loads of fun and splashes of colour at RTC with Box Pop! They have transformed two large 20ft shipping containers into immersive experiences, designed to inspire kids imaginations and challenge their creativity. Get creative in the Art Space, featuring an all-white room, complete with lounge room furniture that is waiting to be brought to life with a burst of colour. Then go and have an absolute ball, hiding and diving in the Ball Pit!

The Mudgeeraba Show started as a small Fete and Flower Show, first run in 1928 to raise money for improvements to the Memorial Hall. From its small beginning the Mudgeeraba Show has progressed to a two day event, crammed with horse events, handicrafts, horticultural exhibits, cooking and preserves, woodchop, ute muster, cattle, sheep, and a wide variety to entertainment to suit the whole family.

Without understanding of how a person with an ASD is experiencing the world, all people involved are likely to experience heightened levels of anxiety; and with anxiety comes an array of unwanted/non-preferred behaviours. This course will explore how a person with an ASD experiences the world differently from their same age peers while also discussing strategies that can bring about lasting behaviour change.
