The inaugural Nostalgia Garage Pedal Car Show’n’Shine event was launched at Cooly Rocks On in 2016 and returns once again to this years’ festival program. This year’s Pedal Car Show’n’Shine is aimed at encouraging the next generation of car enthusiasts to be part of the family-friendly festival. Long gone are the days of little red wagons! Modern Cooly Rocks On kids will be cruisin’ the streets or pavements in their customised Tot Rods, built from the ground up! Entrants are welcome and Pedal Cars will be judged on their style, connection with the 50s and 60s Cooly Rocks On theme and the appeal they have with the crowd.

Hang on to your beverages because the fun doesn’t stop there… test your skills with amusement rides, or cuddle a little piglet at the petting zoo. Shoot a hop or take a strike in the bowling lane, which is a permanent feature in the new kid’s arena. Kids will enjoy being turned into their favourite characters with face painters available throughout the festivities, all while singing along to our live music.

FESTIVAL OF THE STONE
Sunday June 11 from 4pm – 10pm // Stone & Wood Brewing, 4 Boronia Pl, Byron Bay

Come along and kick back as the sun sets and the music pumps, with your friends and family at the annual event that celebrates the release of their dark Winter seasonal ‘Stone Beer’. After last year’s anticipated music line-up, the brewery has announced rock band Kingswood will headline the night, alongside Polish Club, MT Warning and a favourite among kids young and old, Bunny Racket. Family friendly, the festival is about bringing the community together. There will be a kid’s area and everyone’s encouraged to have a dance alongside the children when Bunny Racket kicks off their set.

Play and learn about patterns through body actions and art – clapping, jumping, stomping, tearing, drawing and sticking. In this fun under 5’s workshop, you’ll look at current exhibiting artist Chris Bennie’s playful photographs and performances and make a mega mash with collage patterns and stickers. COOMERA ANGLICAN COLLEGE // BATTLE OF THE BANDS

Join in for this year’s Battle of the Bands event, one of the most exciting live performance opportunities for young musicians across the Gold Coast. A talented line up of 12 bands from local secondary schools will rock the stage, showcasing a variety of music genres from rock and pop to grunge, funk and acoustic guitar. In addition to the judges’ awards, bands have a chance to win the “People’s Choice Award” so come along and cheer for your favourite bands. Audience admission is $10 per person, with tickets available at the door. The competition commences at 6pm sharp. Food and drinks are available at the venue from 5pm, and some fantastic raffle prizes will be up for grabs. This is a fantastic night of live music and all are welcome to attend!
