It’s finally here! The Gold Coast Show – now in it’s 112th year – kicks off TODAY, and there’s no better place to catch all of your show favourites. Whether it’s equestrian, sideshow alley, wood-chopping, baby animals, arts and crafts, beach camel rides, incredible live music or a stroll through the famous Showbag Pavillion, the Gold Coast Show packs a serious punch this year and is not to be missed. Plus, the incredible LUMINOCITY Festival will also debut at this year’s Show, turning Southport into a gallery of illuminated artworks that will transform some of our most iconic destinations. VALLEY FIESTA

Brisbane’s biggest street party is back! JOSEPHINE WANTS TO DANCE

A 45-minute musical packed with great songs, fun costumes, humour and a big old dose of optimism, that’s what. Catch the stage-adaptation of the beloved picture book by Jackie French and Bruce Whatley when it plays to audiences at the Gold Coast’s HOTA – but only for two nights!

GEORGE’S MARVELLOUS MEDICINE

It’s Australia’s largest campaign dedicated to preventing child sexual assault, and it returns next Friday, September 7, for its 22nd year. BLUE LIGHT DISCO
Friday September 7 from 6.30pm – 8.30pm // Logan West Community Centre, Browns Plains

The Queensland Blue Light Association are on a mission to enhance the lives of youths under 18-years-old, and their Blue Light Discos are the ultimate kids’ night out! At just $5 entry, your kids (ages 6-14 only) can dance the night away with their friends in fabulous fancy dress and enjoy tasty pizza and items from the canteen, while you can feel confident that they’re in good hands, as the event is fully supervised by police.

CINDERELLA
Friday September 7 thru to Saturday September 15 // QPAC, South Bank

Be right there in the crowd when Ben Stevenson’s acclaimed production of Cinderella sprinkles magic and fairy dust all over QPAC from September 7. The classic fairy-tale is reimagined with dancers from Queensland Ballet, and music performed by the Queensland Festival Philharmonic Orchestra, and is sure to delight audiences young and old. But hurry – Cinderella must leave Brisbane after September 15, when her magic spell runs out!

THE REAL STORY OF LITTLE RED RIDING HOOD

We all know the story… girl goes to grandma’s house, girl meets wolf, wolf eats grandma – or, do we?
