Now thru to Monday December 24 // Brisbane City & South Bank

There is so much going on in Brisbane this Christmas! From Roma Street Parkland’s Enchanted Garden, which will see the gardens transform into a visual feast perfect for the whole family, to all of the family-friendly fun in South Bank – which includes the Carols by Twilight, the Christmas Cinema, Holly Jolly Kids activities and the plentiful Christmas Gift Market. Also, make sure you don’t miss the Christmas Fireworks, on every night from Thursday December 20 thru to Sunday December 23, or the Gold Lotto City Hall Lights which are lighting up King George Square for all to see. And, make sure you get a look at the Lights of Christmas at St Stephen’s Cathedral, put on by the creators of Sydney’s VIVID to celebrate the season of peace, joy and goodwill. It’s sure to be a very #MerryBrismas.

Friday December 14 to Sunday December 16, at 11am & 2pm // HOTA, Surfers Paradise

Acclaimed Aussie kidult comedians ‘The Listies’ bring their uproarious take on a holiday panto’ for the whole family to HOTA, with a return season of their critically acclaimed and hugely popular show, ‘The Listies Ruin Xmas!’. Jam-packed full of the classy things kids love, like poo emojis, snow machines and inflatable Santa suits, The Listies know all the right buttons to push to make you – ahh, we mean your kids – shriek with laughter. Yule love it!

Friday December 14 to Friday December 21 // Mt Gravatt & Wooloowin, Brisbane

Known for their seriously fun and energetic science presentations and workshops, Street Science are back for a brand-new Summer of Science experience! Kids aged 7 – 12 years will love the new workshops, which include making your own Airzooka with dry ice smoke rings, DIY metallic slime (which is only available at these workshops) as well as a top-secret experiment that will be revealed on the day. Kids get to keep everything they make!

Friday December 14 thru to Sunday December 23, from 7pm // Brisbane City

It’s the ultimate Christmas activity – the annual Christmas Parade, presented by David Jones! See the parade as it marches its merry way through Queen Street Mall and Albert Street, all the way through to the festively-adorned King George Square. Expect plenty of music and merriment, as well as tonnes of exciting new characters, captivating singers and dancers and, of course, the big man in red, who is sure to entertain and delight spectators of all ages!

Surfers Paradise will transform into a world of Christmassy fun this year, with a jam-packed calendar full of holiday events fit for the whole family! From the White Christmas at Movie World right through to Christmas lunch at The Island or Catch, there’s no shortage of things to do this festive season.

Saturday December 15, from 4pm ‘til 7.30pm // Southport Yacht Club, Main Beach

Head down to the Southport Yacht Club for the perfect family fun day! With face painting, glow sticks, and loads of live entertainment by Vinyl Frenzy at the Waterscape Pontoon Bar, there’s so much to do before Santa arrives at 5.30pm! Book in at the Waterfront Restaurant or bring your deckchair for a party on the beach.

Saturday December 15 thru to Monday January 28, from 9.30am ‘til 4pm // The Workshops Rail Museum, Ipswich

Make tracks to the Workshops Rail Museum these summer school holidays! Whether you’re running away with the circus, exploring the underworld of the Roaring Twenties, or getting up close and personal with the real life steam trains, diesel locomotives and more, make a day of it with entry to the Museum and all exhibits included in your ticket.

Now thru to Sunday December 16, at 10am & 12pm // Gardens Theatre, Brisbane City

One of the most-read and famous children’s books of all time is set to emerge off the page in a masterful theatrical experience for the whole family! Journey through Eric Carle’s incredible stories as they come to life on stage in this enchanting show, also featuring some other delightful characters from three of Eric Carle’s bestselling classics tales including, The Artist Who Painted A Blue Horse, Mr. Seahorse and The Very Lonely Firefly.

See this classic Christmas tale come to life, right before your very eyes! Charles Dickens’ work has been adapted for the stage, promising plenty of laughs, songs, lavish costumes and Christmas magic. Set your spirits soaring with the visual feast, brought to you by production company shake & stir.

Now thru to Sunday December 16 // Various locations, Gold Coast, Brisbane & Byron Bay

They’ve brought you smash hits like ‘Does This Last’ and ’Turn Up Your Light’, and now you’ve got the chance to see Boo Seeka for free, courtesy of Corona! Check them out tonight at South Bank’s South Beach Social, tomorrow night at the Sandstone Point Hotel or Sunday at the Byron Bay Beach Hotel. Did we mention it’s free?!

Monday December 17 thru to Friday December 21 // The Marine Village, Sanctuary Cove

Get into the holiday spirit when Christmas comes to Sanctuary Cove! On the Cove Christmas Charity Evening, restaurants in The Marine Village will be accepting donations on behalf of their charity of choice for one night only – Wednesday, December 19. It will be a night that celebrates the true meaning of Christmas, with an entire community coming together to help those less fortunate during the festive season.

Monday December 17 thru to Friday December 21, from 10am ‘til 1pm daily // Australia Fair, Southport

There’s nothing like some Christmas cooking to get into the school holiday spirit! This fun and interactive cooking show, gives children the opportunity to prepare delicious and nutritious recipes – and they’ll enjoy making them as much as they enjoy eating them! The children will receive a bright and colourful chef hat and apron to cook in, and also get their own ingredients to create Christmas Reindeer cupcakes and Christmas Santas.

Now thru to Wednesday December 19, from 6.30pm ‘til 10pm // Roma Street Parkland, Brisbane City

Are you ready for the ultimate Christmas light experience? Commencing near ‘Queensland Greats’, wander through shimmering gardens, delicately-lit weeping figs, the twinkling rainforest, and to a tranquil lake where you can enjoy food truck eats and live music. Entry is free and, based on the success of last year’s garden, this year has a new format with a much bigger footprint, longer opening hours and no queue to see the lights.

Thursday December 20, from 7.15pm // Moonlight Cinema Brisbane

Catch the classic Christmas comedy when it hits the Moonlight Cinema this coming Thursday! After inadvertently wreaking havoc on the elf community due to his ungainly size, a man raised as an elf (Will Ferrell) at the North Pole is sent to the U.S. in search of his true identity. Hilarity, naturally, ensues.

From the Riverwalk to the Resort, Pacific Fair is coming alive with Christmas fun! Experience the 12 augmented reality displays – whether it’s trying to wake the sleeping koala, or striking a pose with twelve prancing poodles – and be sure to stop by the Concierge desk to score your free sweet treat.

Now thru to Monday January 28, from 9am ‘til 5.30pm // Fisherman’s Lawn, Broadwater Parklands

The world’s tallest and most extreme standalone inflatable waterslide has officially arrived at Broadwater Parklands. The world record-breaking waterslide is not for the faint of heart and is definitely a thrill ride. Choose the intensity of your wedgie – from the Little Wedgie right through to the Big Chucka. There’s never been a better reason to get a wedgie!
