Enjoy an incredible, free family day out at South Bank Parklands this Australia Day.
Celebrate Australia Day with a stunning cityscape, lush park setting, live music and fireworks on Saturday 26 January. All this, happening in the sprawling parklands of South Bank, offering ideal picnicking with friends and family as you dawn your green and gold for some good ole Aussie fun.
Live Music
Australia Day on the Green will be located at River Quay with live music from 1pm to 5.30pm. Artists include Birdman Randy, The Ivory Street Preachers and special guest DJs sharing iconic Aussie tunes.
Fireworks
Fireworks will light up the sky at 7.30pm and blast off from five barges located between the Victoria and Goodwill Bridges. This pyrotechnic display will be set to all-Australian music featuring green and gold and even feature six jet ski performers launching fireworks while they perform in front of the promenade. You’ll find the best viewing from the Clem Jones Promenade, the Cultural Forecourt and River Quay.
Eat + Drink
We mentioned picnics (BYO) or you can enjoy South Bank’s cafes, bars and restaurants, which will be open as per usual on Australia Day. Pick your venue or meeting spot ahead of time by visiting visitsouthbank.com.au. You’ll also find BBQ facilities at Riverside Green and Picnic Island Green.
