Due to the weather conditions, unfortunately the Gold Coast Turf Club’s Family Fun Day has been cancelled. You can experience all the fun at their next Family Fun Day which will be their Easter Raceday on Saturday 4 April.
Looking for ways to entertain the kids this Australia Day Long Weekend? Kick off the weekend at the Gold Coast Turf Club with the annual Australia Day Raceday on Saturday 24 January 2015; a FREE family fun day featuring the OUTBACK JACKS AUSTRALIA DAY CUP & CANE TOAD RACES.
With temperatures forecasted to be a sweltering 31 degrees, there will be inflatable water slides and snow cones to cool you and the little ones down; so don’t forget your boardies and swimmers!
With free entry and free entertainment throughout the day, there is something for the whole family to enjoy!
LIVE HORSE RACING
It wouldn’t be a day out at the races without live thoroughbred horse races. While the kids run amuck in the free family fun zone, there is loads of bars, bookies and totes for the adults to play as well!
FREE CHILDREN’S ACTIVITIES AND RIDES
With pony rides, face painting, inflatable water slides, obstacle courses and the giant inflatable slide, there’s something for the whole family to enjoy. The Giant Inflatable Slide is possibly the highest dry slide in Australia – perfect for teenagers, adults and brave little ones!
CANE TOAD RACES AND AUSTRALIAN REPTILE SHOW
In keeping with the Aussie tradition of betting on 2 flies crawling up a wall, there will be Cane Toad Races to place bets on the day. There will also be an Australian Reptile Show which is a one hour show introducing children to a variety of reptiles & amphibians.
ABORIGINAL DANCE PERFORMANCE
Aboriginal dance performances, including corroborees, dreamtime stories, didgeridoo music and song. It is a mesmerising and inspirational showcase of Aboriginal culture and heritage for adults and children of all ages.
