Get ready to sing! Broadbeach Alliance invites you to join them with a host of local and national stars to sing your heart out at the Gold Coast’s favourite festive event – the Broadbeach Christmas Carols, which will be held in Pratten Park on Saturday December 9.
Organised by the team at Broadbeach Alliance and with new presenting partner, Pacific Fair, the 2017 event is guaranteed to put the whole family in the holiday spirit.
Broadbeach Christmas Carols is renowned for highlighting our local talent too and this year will be no exception. Featuring the Gold Coast Youth Orchestra, Gold Coast Youth Choir, local dancers and our very own star, Hot Tomato radio presenter Emily Jade O’Keeffe who will take to the microphone not just as the events emcee but also to delight the crowd with her vocal ability.
“I’m delighted and slightly horrified to be invited back not only to host but sing again at this year’s Broadbeach Christmas Carols,” jokes Emily Jade. “I’ll need to lift my game as I’m singing a number of songs this year, so I really need the crowd to join in and support me, for their own sakes!”
Emily will be singing five songs including: Rudolph the red nose reindeer, Santa Clause is coming to town, Frosty the snowman, I saw mummy kissing Santa Clause and Rocking around the Christmas tree. She will also be singing a surprise song, which won’t be announced until the night.
A range of family activities will kick off the Christmas festivities from 3pm including: the Base Zero Rock Climbing Wall, Giant Slide, Face Painting, Snow Globe Family Photos and Gecko Sports obstacle courses, basketball and soccer shoot outs, egg and spoon races and lots more.
The Carols starting at 6pm will be hosted by 102.9 Hot Tomato’s Flan and Emily Jade with Christo along with NBN Television’s Big Dog, so bring out the Santa hats and candles for a phenomenal night.
Emily says its important to turn up early to make sure you get the best spot as more than 10,000 people turned up last year.
“I’d tell people to get there not long after three and bring a picnic for dinner and probably pack the togs and towels for kids in case they want to go for a swim,” Emily says.
“Broadbeach is right there, so you can get some takeaway food right there if you don’t have time to a pack a picnic.”
