The Aerial Angels Academy knows kids! As well as being teachers, performers and show producers many of the Aerial Angels team are also parents and know the struggle each of us have finding good quality holiday care. Especially with that very modern challenge of keeping our kids fit, against the lure of screens and technology.
A brainstorming session late last year saw the development of the brand-new AERIAL ANGELS ACADEMY CIRCUS SUMMER CAMPs. This week-long activity program offers up to 6 hours a day of fun, fitness and friendship. The previous 2-hour holiday workshops received rave reviews from parents and kids but a common comment was that they needed to be longer! The AA team took notice and this new program is the result. As well as the usual Circus games and activities such as acrobatics, trapeze, juggling, hoopla hoops, tight rope walking and mini trampoline there is now lots of fun new things to do. New favourites include arts and crafts and movies.
Aerial Angels owner, former aerialist and mother of triplets, Sue Porrett says “The aim of our workshops and camps, apart from giving mums and dads a break is to teach kids about fitness and respecting their bodies. A bonus is we also see a dramatic increase in confidence and co-ordination. Even the quietest kids open up. It’s such a fun and non-competitive environment. I’m so glad to be able to offer this and I really wish something like this had been around when I was growing up.”
The camps are fully supervised and the renowned coaches all have Blue Cards and First Aid training. Parents don’t miss out either as each day ends with a very special mini performance by the kids, showcasing some of the skills they’ve learned and plenty of opportunity to take photos.
The programme can be undertaken as a full week or as just individual days and you don’t need any experience. The AERIAL ANGELS ACADEMY CIRCUS SUMMER CAMP is designed for boys and girls ages 6-12 and runs during the Easter Holidays April 3 -7 from 9am – 3.30pm each day. Call 55220 702 for more information.
