Want to be inspired and get party ready for 2020?

Well I have done the research and summarised the coolest party trends for you for 2020.

Yes –  you will still see the usual princess, pirate, mermaid, Batman, Spiderman themes because let’s face it… they are timeless for their age groups and will never disappear. Especially Frozen – that one is NOT going anywhere in a hurry. But, these trends I am talking about can be applied to so many types of party themes. So here they are!

Textured Backdrops – No matter what your actual party theme, textured backdrops are here for 2020 and are making a statement. Layered streamer backdrops are on trend as well as draped materials or tablecloths and balloons. You can easily DIY them or you can buy them already made. I love the already made ones from Lovely Occasions.

Eco Friendly Parties – In an effort to create a positive impact on our environment, aim for a minimalist party with less disposable décor and aim for recyclable only products or use glassware or reusable plates and cups. Get thrifty with decorations and buy local when you can. Choose digital invites over printed and be conscious of food wastage.

Fluorescent and Metallic Vibes – Add a touch of fluro or metallic to your colour theme or go the whole hog and make it the complete theme! The choice is yours really. Think bright over- sized balloons, bright backdrops with a hint of metallic and tableware. Even ask your guests to all wear something bright to add to the vibe!

Soft Pinks and Caramel – For a whimsical themed event or party, these two colours are taking over for 2020. So girly and so pretty! This could be the colour scheme for the perfect princess party! I can just picture desserts to match…

Rainbows – I am not talking the usual bright coloured rainbow parties. I am talking beautiful pastel earthy toned rainbow parties with rattan and wooden accents/table décor. A colour palette of blush, peach, mustard and vintage yellows or even a touch of dusty blue.

Nature – Think all things natural and nature. Natural colours, foliage and outdoor settings for the décor and crafts and activities involving nature. This theme is suited to all ages and events and is being loved HARD right now.

Pressed Flower Cakes – These are next level pretty and oh so insta worthy! They are perfect for vintage parties, boho parties and even weddings! Very romantic and stylish.

Food Trucks – Think Ice cream truck or gelato bike or a delicious food truck that does wood fired pizzas or a variety of catering. The food truck becomes a feature of the party and you do not have to worry about the cooking! Perfect! I love the Gelato Social and their gelato bicycle. Super cute!

Planning a party should always be just as fun as actually celebrating on the day. I hope you feel inspired or excited reading these trends and make sure you tag us in your party set ups so we can share the love.

Happy party planning!
