The holidays are here and the kids are so excited to see the latest movie releases (and adults alike!). Here’s what you can find at your local cinema these summer school holidays…

 

Ferdinand (CTC)

Ferdinand tells the story of a giant bull with a big heart. After being mistaken for a dangerous beast, he is captured and torn from his home. Determined to return to his family, he rallies a misfit team on the ultimate adventure. Set in Spain, Ferdinand proves you can’t judge a bull by its cover. Voice cast includes John Cena, Kate McKinnon and Gina Rodriguez.

 

Disney·Pixar’s ‘Coco’ (PG)

Despite his family’s baffling generations-old ban on music, Miguel dreams of becoming an accomplished musician like his idol, Ernesto de la Cruz. Desperate to prove his talent, Miguel finds himself magically transported to the stunning and colourful Land of the Dead following a mysterious chain of events. Along the way, he meets charming trickster Hector and together, they set off on an extraordinary journey to unlock the real story behind Miguel’s family history. Voice cast includes Anthony Gonzales, Benjamin Bratt and Gael Garcia Bernal.

 

 

Paddington 2 (G)

The much-anticipated sequel to the worldwide hit family film finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens where he has become a popular member of the community, spreading joy and marmalade wherever he goes. While searching for the perfect present for his beloved Aunt Lucy’s 100th birthday, Paddington spots a unique pop-up book in Mr Gruber’s antique shop and embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy it. But when the book is stolen, it’s up to Paddington and the Browns to unmask the thief. Paddington stars Hugh Grant, Brendan Gleeson, Hugh Bonneville and Sally Hawkins. Jumanji (PG)

Pitch Perfect 3 (CTC)

Now graduated from college and out in the real world where it takes more than a cappella to get by, the Bellas return in Pitch Perfect 3, the next chapter in the beloved series that has taken in more than $40 million at the global box office. After the highs of winning the World Championships, the Bellas find themselves split apart and are discovering there aren’t job prospects making music with your mouth. But when they get the chance to reunite for an overseas USO tour, this group of awesome nerds will come together to make some music, and some questionable decisions, one last time. The movie stars Anna Kendrick, Rebel Wilson, Hailee Steinfeld and Brittany Snow.  See a special advance screening of Pitch Perfect 3 at Chicks at the Flicks at Event Cinemas on December 22 at 7 pm.
