Hello summer! It’s the time to farewell another school year and embrace summer holidays! Yay for sleep ins, sandy toes and slow-going day trips. And for some, it’s also time for work, a serious case of FOMO (fear of missing out) as the kids hit the beach, skate parks and just chill. All while you juggle childcare, your inbox and play date swaps. I don’t know about you, but I get a serious case of envy when the kids are hanging with ‘Disney Dad’ when it’s my day to work. Mind you, my turn always comes. But my days off work usually involve grocery shopping, washing the car and making the kids clean their rooms (who else hears me right now?!).

It’s not all bad at this time of the year though. Family movies galore hit the big screen and culture prevails at our local arts precincts. Plus you’ve got school holiday workshops for your little tribe and the best line up of events we’ve seen all year.

But first, a little Chrissy inspo. Have you finished your shopping (I’m half way there!)? We’re all for experiences over gift-wrapping this year in our house. We’ve got three weeks of family time, a caravan to tow and memories to make. I love this time of year to download the year that was and start afresh with some kick-ass goals and dreams for the year ahead.

Until we close the lid on our own lap tops for summer holidays, the crew at haven have put together some pretty cool social media sweeps – are you following us? Who doesn’t like to win prizes at this time of the year?! Use @havenhub if you’re not already liking, following or loving our social pages.

Now, go on and enjoy summer wrapped up in the pages of this edition of haven. If you miss us while we take a break, you can click with us for a weekly digital dose of haven, including the latest Top 10 family-friendly events each week, straight to you inbox.

Go make some memories with the fam and may your holiday season be full of fun and happy days!

Happy summer!
