How long has it been since you’ve had a massage? My guess is too long because, well #Mumlife! I was chatting the other day to a young Mum and she’d mentioned how hard it was to get out with a little one. My kids are all at school now, but it did get me thinking about the isolation and limited choices you have as a new Mum. So I went on a search for a reputable company that would come to you. Turns out that I’ve found one where you don’t only have to leave the house, you also don’t pay exorbitantly for the privilege. You only need to schedule that much needed and overdue massage and the Day Spa experience arrives to you.

Ripple Massage is a locally run company that makes the process of getting a massage very simple. They cater for Mumma’s, Hen’s parties, couples, staycationers, even office groups. Bookings are made with the owner of the 15 year old business, Ali. I’m told that Ripple Massage can cater for group bookings of up to 30 guests and they have a wide range of massage and beauty services to suit most people looking for some pampering.

After booking in my 1 hour Pamper Package, Amanda arrived at my front door the next day. Carrying a full complement of massage equipment and towels, my only job was to find her a space to setup and provide a kettle (warm water for the ensuing foot soak). If Amanda was anything to go by, the massage therapists are very skilled at their job and are very adaptable. Amanda was very accommodating in letting Harley, my over-exuberant puppy say hello and ‘help’ set-up the towels.

One hour of pampering began with a foot soak in bath salts and reflexology to ease away tension in my feet. Ripple Massage have their own line of custom products including the foot scrub salts, clay masks and scented oils. What followed next was a clever use of time as a green clay and cucumber mask was applied and Amanda proceeded to massage my legs and arms whilst the mask was working its magic. To complement the mini facial, hot towels removed the mask and coconut oil was lightly massaged into my face and scalp. Rolling over to complete the massage face down, my back muscles accepted the kneading pressure with gratitude. As with all good massages, you get to choose how firm or soft the pressure is and can request to have certain areas left alone.

For many people that don’t get the chance to get to a Day Spa, this is a terrific solution that gives you a sample of everything.  Mumma’s, you need some time out now and then too. Time by yourselves, time with your partner or time with your girlfriends. What better way to spend this time than getting a restorative massage.

Ripple Massage offer an extensive list of mobile services. Some standouts from their treatment menu are the chocolate scrub and massage, hot stone massage, reef shell massage and a coffee massage.
