Christmas in Roma Street Parkland // The Enchanted Garden
From Friday December 7 through to Wednesday December 19, Roma Street Parkland will transform into a visual feast suitable for all ages. Between 6:30pm and 10pm, be taken on a magical festive journey starting at the Queensland Greats Wall and winding through a series of shimmering gardens, delicately-lit weeping figs, the treetops of a twinkling rainforest, right down to the tranquil lake surrounded by food trucks and live music. Look out for glittering fairies nestled among the trees throughout your walk.

Christmas in South Bank // Carols by Twilight
From Friday December 14 through to Sunday December 23, witness the South Bank Parklands’ Carols by Twilight at River Quay. From 6pm until 8pm, catch a magical line-up including gypsy jazz band Cigany Weaver, SCAT and the Queensland Show Choir.

Also at River Quay, starting Friday December 14 and running through to Sunday December 23, catch the jam-packed movie schedule of the Christmas Cinema, which is on nightly from 8.15pm.

Christmas in South Bank // Christmas Gift Market
South Bank’s Christmas Gift Market returns to the Parklands from Friday December 14 until Sunday December 23, with fashion, food, stationary, jewellery, homewares and so much more. All of the stalls are open from 3pm until 10pm every day, and Santa is onsite each day between 4.30pm and 8.30pm (find him next to Flowstate).

Christmas in South Bank // Holly Jolly Kids
Aerial Angels will be running their Elf Academy from Friday December 14 through to Sunday December 23, on the Little Stanley Street Lawn 3pm until 7pm. Let your kids hula-hoop, juggle, tight-rope walk and aerial trapeze their way through the fun classes, or keep their feet planted firmly on the ground at the Holly Jolly Kid’s craft and dance classes – ornament making is on from 3pm ‘til 7pm, and the Queensland Ballet dance classes are from 3pm until 6:30pm. Bookings are not required for any Holly Jolly Kids activities!

Christmas in South Bank // Christmas Fireworks
Light the night in true Christmas style when the South Bank Parkland puts on a shimmering firework display from Thursday December 20 through to Sunday December 23. Between 8 and 8.15pm, make sure you’re front row at the Clem Jones Promenade, or head to Streets Beach, River Quay and the Cultural Forecourt.

Gold Lotto City Hall Lights
From Friday December 7 through to Monday December 24, King George Square will light up with light shows every fifteen minutes, from 7.30pm until midnight. Don’t miss this all new, enchanting story of an Aussie Christmas with an international twist.

Christmas Parade
From Friday December 14 through to Sunday December 23, from 7pm. It’s the ultimate Christmas activity – the annual Christmas Parade, presented by David Jones! See the parade as it marches its merry way through Queen Street Mall and Albert Street, all the way through to the festively-adorned King George Square. Expect plenty of music and merriment, as well as tonnes of exciting new characters, captivating singers and dancers and, of course, the big man in red, who is sure to entertain and delight spectators of all ages!

The Lights of Christmas at St Stephen’s Cathedral
From Wednesday December 12 until Monday 24 December, St Stephens Cathedral (at 249 Elizabeth St) will be home to a second light and sound show – a Brisbane first – that will illuminate the city right up until Christmas Eve. Put together by the creators of VIVID to celebrate the season of peace, joy and goodwill, the animations and projection on the cathedral between 7.30pm and midnight, every night, will be truly mind-blowing.
