2015 Sand Safari

For two magical weeks the Surfers Paradise Foreshore will come to life with a sand-tastic display of sculpting talent as part of the 2015 Sand Safari. Families are encouraged to visit and watch the stories unfold as sculptors interpret the theme of ‘Magical Friendships’, presented by Disney, where international sand sculptors battle it out for the coveted title and visitors vote for their favourite finished product for the People’s Choice Award. Sand Safari offers plenty of free activities for families and children alike including beachfront sand sculpting workshops, sand art, sand bottle making and more!

Laser Light Shows at Robina Town Centre

Robina Town Centre is set to light up Gold Coast skies by night, with a series of spectacular, free laser light shows taking place lakeside on The Promenade during February, including Valentine’s Day! Using innovative laser graphic technology, a series of moving images will be projected onto an impressive 25 metre wide ‘Aqua-Screen’ positioned in the lake. This will create a stunning holographic vision and tell a unique story for audiences to enjoy. The laser light spectacle will also be synchronised with surround-sound music, transforming a typical visit to The Promenade into an extraordinary feast for the senses!

Mumzbuzz Valentine’s Day Soiree

The library has withdrawn some of their older stock to make way for new books so, whether you are looking for fiction or non-fiction, big books or little books, romances or mysteries, there will be something for everyone, all priced to sell. The money that’s raised from the sale will be put back into the library programs so, not only do you get to take home and keep some fabulous books, you also get to enjoy more wonderful programs.

Free Children’s First Aid Awareness

Chinese New Year at Sanctuary Cove

Sanctuary Cove is welcoming in the 2015 Chinese New Year with a free 4-day celebration to salute the Year of the Sheep. A range of family fun activities will be on offer including traditional lion dancing, fire cracker and kung fu displays, Chinese-inspired craft workshops, entertainment and authentic cuisine.

The whole family will be entertained by exhilarating performances featuring colourful lion dancers, as well as a fire cracker and a kung fu display, at 6.30pm daily and 12.30pm on Saturday and Sunday.

Everyone can get involved in the weekend’s traditional Chinese activities and workshops with Griffith University’s Tourism Confucius Institute, which includes kite masking, mask painting and Chinese calligraphy.
