Saturday Kids – Optical ‘Holiday’ Illusion
Saturday January 31 at 9.00am for ages 6-GR3 & 11.30am for GR4+ // Mrs Red’s Art Room, 151 West Burleigh Rd, Burleigh Heads

Saturday art classes for your budding artist! This will test their patience… you will not get the dizzy optical illusion if you rush and make the gaps in your lines too big. Mrs Red want the kids to choose a simple word that described their holidays, bubble write it and then with a black marker they have to take their time, keep their pen on the page (very hard for at least half of them) and try not to get dizzy as the optical effect takes place. They can then add paint or pencil/texta to create some colour. This project is lots of fun and a great way to get your kids to re-focus for the year ahead! The cost for this class is $29 and bookings are essential as classes are extremely popular! Each week varies as to what art activity the kids will tackle.

People always say “you need to love yourself before you can love another”. But in reality, this often feels like great words but with no practical understanding of what that could possibly mean. To truly love and support another person in the world we need to first learn to love and support ourselves. This talk will support people to take this “foreign concept” and turn it into a practical day-to-day activity. There are limited numbers for this talk, so bookings are essential.

Fabic Workshop – Understanding Behaviour
Thursday February 5 from 9am – 4pm // Robina Community Centre, 196 Robina Town Centre Dr, Robina

At times we all use behaviours we would prefer not to be using. If we want the behaviour to change it is important that we must first understand “why” this behaviour is being used! No matter how unwanted or unacceptable the behaviour may be, ALL behaviour happens for a reason. This reason must first be identified if we want positive behaviour change to occur. This course aims to support people to look at behaviour in isolation of the person and be objective by investigating and identifying the reason behind certain behaviours. You will be taught a scientific yet user friendly behaviour investigation tool enabling you to “understand behaviour used by yourself and other people”.

Fabic Workshop – Changing Behaviour
Friday February 6 from 9am – 4pm // Robina Community Centre, 196 Robina Town Centre Dr, Robina

Whether it be a 3-year-old or an 80-year-old; we all have used unwanted behaviours at some point in our life, and will again in the future unless we are supported and taught to respond differently. This workshop provides participants with a greater understanding of the reasons behind their unwanted behaviours, and the practical tools to choose differently in the future. The focus of this workshop will be on teaching new positive behaviours to respond to life, and preventative strategies as opposed to reactive strategies (only responding once the unwanted behaviours have occurred). Use of real case examples and the opportunity to practice learned strategies will allow participants to develop a true understanding that can be integrated into your every-day-life.
