Surfers Paradise Kids Week is just about here. Strap yourself in for yet another action-packed school holiday week all in the heart of holiday paradise – Surfers Paradise.

The September school holidays signal a break from books and time to hit the beach after our winter hibernation but it also signals the annual Surfers Paradise Kids Week.

Packed with loads of free activities along the Surfers Paradise foreshore, the headline act for this week-long family event will be Nick Jr.’s PAW Patrol crew and their twice-daily show, ‘Ready for Action’. Join Ryder, Chase and Marshall as they answer Mayor Goodway’s call for help to save the “Adventure Bay Talent Show”. Get ready and warm up as Ryder and the Pups take you through all the moves for the Pup, Pup Boogie and make this the best rescue mission ever! This free show is performed daily at 10am and 12.30pm and there’s even a meet and greet daily at 11am where you can get up close with the characters for a photo.

HamburglarAmong the other major attractions of Surfers Paradise Kids Week will be Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary’s Wildlife Adventure show. Running across the weekend of September 17-18, families can enjoy Australia’s favourite koala, Blinky Bill, who will venture north from his home at Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary to be a special guest in the shows at the Kids Week Marquee (10.30am and 1pm both days, with meet and greets at noon).

Friendship, cooperation, anti-bullying and active play are all key messages in the Ronald McDonald and Friends show that will also occupy the weekend of September 17 and 18. Not only will Ronald McDonald make a guest appearance, he’ll be bringing his friends including Birdie, Grimace and Hamburglar. It’s a show for all ages, focusing on fun while also being educational and meaningful. The show will be performed at 11.30am on Saturday and Sunday with meet and greets at 1.30pm both days.

There’ll also be special appearances throughout the week from balloon artist/ magician/funny guys – the Dream Guards and beat-boxer Dr Rhythm. Be sure to make your way down to the Surfers Paradise Beach so the kids can have a crack at the giant Banana Boat Beach Obstacle Challenge. If all that’s not enough, kid-friendly activities such as face painting, arts and crafts and more will keep the mini visitors busy as bees. Presented by Marriott Vacation Club, Surfers Paradise Kids Week celebrates all things kids from September 17-23.
