We know we’re only just back at our desks, but isn’t it time for a holiday? We think so. We’ve studied the calendar to find out how we can get the most out of our public holidays this year, and we’ve decided to share our findings with you.

Easter and ANZAC Day

How do you turn four days of leave into an 11 day holiday? Simple! Just take off April 19 – 22 and you’ll score yourself a holiday from Good Friday (April 15) until work resumes after ANZAC Day (April 25).

Labour Day

You won’t need to return to work for much longer after Easter/ANZAC Day before you’re treated to another public holiday – and, another excuse to use your annual leave! Labour Day falls on Monday May 2, meaning you can take the rest of the week off (May 3 – May 6) and get nine days off for the price of four.

Queen’s Birthday

Much like the Labour Day public holiday, when the Queen’s Birthday public holiday rolls around on Monday October 3, you’ll be able to enjoy a cruisey nine days off with minimal effort. Make sure you take October 4, 5, 6 and 7 off work to get nine days of holidays, from Saturday October 1 until Sunday October 9.

Finally, Christmas – it feels a lifetime away, doesn’t it? But you might want to think ahead, because if you take just three days off from Wednesday December 28 to Friday December 30, you’ll get 10 days off thanks to belated the public holiday for Christmas Day (which falls on a Sunday this year).

Now go forth and vacay!
