Now here’s a wholesome family-friendly event that everyone will enjoy these school holidays, in celebration of creativity, motherhood and community. So, who else is heading to Byron Bay in January?!

If you’re looking for local, environmentally friendly and socially responsible products, put this market on your hit list. The Mama + Me markets is a Byron Shire community of likeminded local mummy entrepreneurs, passionate about offering beautiful products and services. Here, visitors can celebrate local businesses that sell products that are vintage, locally sourced, organic, vegan, recycled or handmade. Grab your share of handcrafted goodies, organic teas, gorgeous children’s clothing and so much more.

Markets founder Baylee Wood says Mama + Me blossomed out of her frustrations around trying to raise two children and thrive as a budding entrepreneur in Byron Bay.

“I knew I was not alone in my plight for having both a successful business and happy children, so I decided to take it upon myself to make it easier for other mamas in my situation,” she explains.

Mama + Me will transform into a festival-like space with a family focus on January 16. There will be a wide range of stalls, activities for the kids, music, delicious food and entertainment for the whole family. Entry is free so this festival-like market won’t break your budget and there is plenty of pram parking.

Baylee says the Mama + Me markets are unique as all of the products and services are provided by work-at-home mums. The markets really are a community for mums to support one another through sharing resources and giving advice. Among Baylee’s missions for Mama + Me, she aims to “create a community of mums who support each other from a place of understanding, trust and respect” and “educate mums about family issues from a place of humble wisdom”. Nice.
