When catering kid-friendly parties, get clever with your offerings so that both the kids and the chaperoning adults keep reaching for more. When it comes to beverages, a mocktail (turned cocktail) is your perfect solution. These recipes make two serves each.
Ginger Lime Fizz
Combine roughly 350ml ginger beer, 120ml soda water and juice of one freshly-squeezed lime in a jug with ice. Add lime slices to garnish.
For the adults, spike it with: Spiced rum
Frozen Peach Bellini
Freeze two ripe, sliced peaches for one hour, then blend with one cup of sparkling apple juice, two teaspoons of simple syrup and juice of half a lime. Top with a splash of sparkling apple juice, and garnish with peach wedges.
For the adults, spike it with: Prosecco
Mix eight fresh mint leaves, juice of one lime and 30ml of agave in a jug. Then add ice, 30ml of blood orange puree and top with soda water.
For the adults, spike it with: White rum
Honey Berry Kombucha Blend
Over medium heat, combine one cup of fresh blueberries and two tablespoons of honey in a saucepan for four to five minutes (until berries are bursting). Add to a jug, top with one cup of fresh raspberries and half a cup of berry kombucha. When serving, top each glass with kombucha and ginger beer. Garnish with fresh basil or mint and extra berries.
