Get on down to the Southport Sharks for a program of family fun for three National Day celebrations during January and February. Children can join the Laugh Out Loud Crew, who love an excuse to dress up and theme to the extreme, for plenty of dancing with the best music around, creating one fun kids party!


Kids Australia Day Party – January 26

This Australia Day leave the hard work to Southport Sharks and enjoy classic Aussie tucker at Frenzy Food Court and free live entertainment for the whole family. Frenzy’s will be adding fair dinkum Aussie tastes such as lamp chops and BBQ prawns to the dinner buffet offerings to celebrate the occasion on Thursday, January 26.

Australia DayTake the family to Southport Sharks, as the LOL Crew host a Kids Australia Day Party from 1.30pm to 3.30pm. There will be free face painting from 1pm to 3pm, a visit from Mr Sharky at 2pm and a live reptile show from 4pm to 5pm – with photo opportunities for the kids!

Plus, you can catch the Australia Day Gift races on Fankhauser Reserve between 10.30am until 3pm. End the day on the ultimate Aussie high with live entertainment by Summer Surf Party playing rock hits and beachy vibes, from 8.30pm.

Chinese New Year – January 28

The 2017 Chinese New Year is the year of the rooster. The rooster is the sign of awakening, bringing triumph and success. It is a time for families to gather and enjoy a family feast of traditional fare.

To celebrate Chinese New Year, Frenzy Food Court will have a range of Chinese-inspired dishes added to the buffet on January 28, available from 5.30pm. Don’t miss the Chinese Lion Dance from 7pm, and the fantastic live entertainment by Vertigo from 8.30pm.

Waitangi Day – February 4-6

Waitangi Day Band Sovereign - low resTēnā koutou! Celebrate Waitangi Day at Sharks from February 4-6, with New Zealand inspired dishes added to the buffet in Frenzy Food Court. Sovereign will bring soulful sounds to Sharks on Waitangi Day (Saturday, February 4), from 8.30pm. You might recognise the vocalists who are former members of X-Factor (Australia) season one winners,  Random. This is one act not to be missed!

We are continuing the celebrations through until Monday, February 6 in Frenzy’s – remember KIDS EAT FREE on Mondays with a paying adult*. There will be live entertainment by New Zealand artists, Brown Suga, performing R’n’B, Top 40, Disco and dance. This trio blend beautifully with the sweet sound of soul.
