There’s a new kid on the block in the Health and Wellness space and I have a feeling you’re going to like it.

Opening their doors in April, City Cave is a float and wellness centre offering; Float therapy, Infra-red sauna, massage, myotherapy, nutrition and psychology.  A one-stop-shop built on the foundations of self care, self improvement and self awareness, City Cave hopes that their centre can help people improve their health proactively.

Founder/Director of City Cave, Jeremy Hassell had this to say about the new centre opening in Mermaid Waters.

1. What is float therapy? And what is it good for?

Float therapy is about sensory deprivation. Turning off external stimulation and floating in a mineral rich environment. Relieving stress on the mind and body. It is great for any stress cadets, physically active people and gives relief for things like fibromyalgia, arthritis, chronic pain, back pain, musculoskeletal problems, anxiety/depression, over stimulation, restless legs, insomnia, sleep deprivation.

2. What should we be looking for when choosing a float centre?

Comfort and experience. We have removed the claustrophobic tanks and our centres offer float rooms that can be utilised for couples as well. We focused on making our float rooms look extremely relaxing to remove any apprehension to the therapy.

3. What is infra-red sauna?

Through heat and light, our infrared saunas relax and detoxify the body. This technology has been used to relieve pain, increase circulation, purify your skin and ultimately relax. Unlike a regular sauna, the infrared sauna heats your body by penetrating deep into your joints and muscles, just as the sun would, without the UV damage.

Infra-red sauna:

  • Detoxifies the body and skin
  • Increases circulation
  • Improves cardiovascular exercise
  • Releases heat shock proteins for accelerated recovery
  • Boosts immune system
  • Aids in weight-loss
  • Burns 500+ calories in 35 minutes

4. What sort of ailments or problems can a visit to City Cave help with?

We offer a wide range of services. We focus our energy in educating people to be proactive with their health but we also treat reactive symptoms, disease and discomfort.

5. Will you be having any opening special promotions?

We have introductory offers to floating (3 x 1 hour floats for $149 saving $88) and saunas (3 x infrared saunas for $99). We also offer good value memberships.
