Westfield Coomera is set to open on October 11 (not that we’re counting down the days or anything) ushering in a new era in retail, dining, lifestyle and entertainment on the Gold Coast.
The modest $470 million development and string of new and first-to-market experiences will make Westfield Coomera the new town centre, and the ‘beating heart’ of the Northern Gold Coast region. Purpose-built for the community, Westfield Coomera will feature a new dining and entertainment precinct, a carefully curated fashion offering, and casual and market-style fresh food destinations.
In a first-of-its-kind concept, Westfield Coomera will also introduce The Backyard, a 2,600 square metre (sqm) park designed specifically for soaking up the warm weather and catering to the active lifestyle that defines the Coomera community. The outdoor urban oasis will be filled with tall trees, native flora, and bright and colourful art sculptures, as well as kids play zones, all-ages scooter circuits, an interactive billabong for water play, suspended hammocks for relaxation, built in BBQs for communal use, picnic tables and more.
Right nearby Westfield Coomera’s fresh and casual food destinations, The Backyard will offer the perfect place for social outings, family leisure time, or simply a BBQ, family get-together or kids party in the great outdoors, with a range of ready to use facilities.
“With 30 per cent of the centre’s footprint dedicated to dining, leisure and entertainment, Westfield Coomera reflects the evolution of our living centre design and will offer a unique customer experience which has never been on offer in the region before,” says Westfield Centre Manager, Lauren Frew.
“Westfield Coomera will be a place of discovery for families to come together, socialise and enjoy. We can’t wait to share in the excitement with our customers on October 11, and as more of our retailers open in time for Christmas”, adds Frew.
Westfield Coomera will offer 140 specialty retail stores across its 59,000sqm area, including Coles, Woolworths, Kmart, Target, JB Hi-Fi, Rebel and Event Cinemas with Gold Class, as well as an impressive fashion retail mix including the likes of H&M and Universal Store.
Light and airy spaces and leafy courtyards will create a true Queensland feel, and the dining and entertainment precinct will offer new and first-to-region experiences including Goodlife Health Clubs, Betty’s Burgers, Tapworks Bar and Grill, Beach House Bar and Grill and more.
The iPlay Adventure, which will feature activities such as Clip N Climb, a high-ropes course and roller-skating, will mean kids entertainment is sorted. The creators of iPlay are also working on ‘The Park Coomera’, which will feature a ‘putt-putt meets beer garden’ style venue with a bar and pizzeria, full lane bowling, live music and more.
Parking in the ample parking spaces will be free for the first three hours, as well as for those who enter after 5.30pm or who have a valid disabled parking permit.
Westfield Coomera will open on October 11 with a four-day festival packed with live music, surprise and delight experiences, activations, night time fireworks and more.
