Kate and her family – including husband Rob, Josh (11), Charlie (9) and Scooter the dog – live and breathe all things Tropical North Queensland.
From her home base in Cairns, Kate blogs under the name “Adventure Mumma” and brings her readers ideas for family adventures around the Far North. Rob and Kate have lived and worked in the Cairns region for more than 30 years, meeting on reef boats some 20 years ago when Rob was a chef and Kate was activities coordinator.
“As I continued to work on the reef I found a passion for filming and photographing underwater,” Kate says. “The passion also lead to writing articles.” Soon after, Adventure Mumma was born.
While the pair has spent time in countries including NZ, Japan, South Korea, Canada, USA, UK, Europe and even Antarctica, their hearts have always remained in the tropics.
“The climate, the friendly and easy-going locals, the vibrancy and the beauty of Tropical North Queensland have made it the right place to raise our young family,” Kate says.
While Adventure Mumma normally shows visitors what a wonderful adventure playground the Far North truly is, she is currently on an East-Coast road trip as a Domestic ‘Follow the Sun’ brand ambassador, raising funds for the National Breast Cancer Foundation along the way. Well done Kate!
