To celebrate the 50th birthday of Australia’s most-loved children’s television program, the Gold Coast City Art Gallery is hosting Happy Birthday Playschool: Celebrating 50 Years, a travelling exhibition developed by the National Museum of Australia and the ABC.

The exhibition includes everybody’s favourite Play School friends, such as Big Ted, Little Ted, Humpty and Jemima, allowing adults to reminisce while kids get up close and personal with these Australian television icons.

Gold Coast families can also see what’s behind the rocket clock or take a look through the Play School windows as these iconic props are also featured in the exhibition.

All five decades of Play School are recalled in this playful exhibition, which features toys, props and costumes from each period. There are also archival audio and video clips of past presenters having fun on the show.

This free exhibition continues to bring our childhood stories to life until February 5 and is suitable for all of those with fond memories of Play School.
