I’ve never done a juice cleanse before. The idea of cutting out solid foods for a few days and supplying your body with a concoction of nutrients sounds great but to be honest I don’t think I’ve got the mental fortitude for it! You see, I enjoy food I just don’t like having to think about it all the time.

So when cold pressed organic juice cleanse company, Sol Cleanse launched their whole food cleanse menu, I was more than excited to try it. A few days of eating, plant based whole foods had my name written all over it. Partly because I wouldn’t have to think about what I would eat for a while, but also to press the reset button.

Looking through the Sol Cleanse menu you’d be forgiven for thinking you were dining at a Vegetarian restaurant in trendy Byron Bay. In fact I wish I could eat their food ALL the time! The presentation of the meals, packaged in their dinky environmentally friendly containers made the food even more enticing.  Even the menu options sounded yummy.

You can’t help but admire the careful consideration that Sol Cleanse have put into this business. Everything has been thoughtfully curated.

Your box of selected goodies is delivered directly to your door. Inside you will discover a booklet with Sol Cleanse instructions. A stainless steel straw to drink your cold pressed juices. A specially prepared tea blend to support detoxification. A probiotic to help restore gut flora. And delicious whole food vegan meals that don’t remind you of rabbit food! In fact the food was actually delicious! I felt satisfied after eating and didn’t feel like I was missing out at all. The juices supplied were so vibrant and tasty I felt like I was fuelling my body with nutritious vitamins to supercharge my digestive system.

If you choose to do a juice cleanse or a whole food cleanse, my recommendation is to plan for success. Cleansing is a unique experience that should be treated as such. Allow for rest and prepare yourself for needing extra sleep. My tip if you’re a first timer… think about easing your body into a cleanse. Maybe consider replacing 1-2 meals per day with a Sol Cleanse option.

Overall, I loved the whole food cleanse. It can be a jolt to your system- sans coffee and sugar. But you’re encouraged to be gentle on yourself. There are no strict hard and fast rules.

Above all, press the reset button and see how it feels.
