When was the last time you strapped on a pair of skates and felt the wind through your hair? Ask any experienced skater – epic fun is to be had in a rink!
Epic Skate is your one-stop shop for old-school fun and wholesome family entertainment – whether you choose traditional roller skates or want to strap on a pair of inline skates.
Epic Skate’s Tanya O’Dea says her Tweed Heads rink is home to many experienced staff including a three-times national skating champion and state champion, all keen to share their knowledge with visitors.
For those looking to learn to skate, Tanya says Epic Skate offers many classes to suit all levels, especially newbies. There are also many special events held regularly for those skaters looking for some rolling good fun. And, did you know you can even host birthday parties at the rink?
Skate on down for Halloween
On the weekend of October 28 and 29, Epic Skate is inviting skaters to dress up in their most ghoulish Halloween garb and join in for some tricks and treats. Epic Skate’s first Halloween family session will run from 5-7pm on the Friday and then later that night, from 7.30-10pm, the Halloween rink is open to teens and older. On the Saturday, Halloween family session will run from 6-8pm. Tanya says the Halloween weekend will be a very family-orientated special event with prizes for those best dressed in each session. She also ‘warns’ visitors that they enter the ‘scare cave’ (that will be set up at the entrance of Epic Skate) at their own risk. Sounds exciting!
Birthday parties
Birthday parties at Epic Skate are always memorable events. There are a variety of packages available to suit your child’s party requirements including food, skate pass, helium balloons, take-home lolly bags and more. ‘Glow’ skate parties are also all the rage with the rink lights dimmed and glowsticks providing a moving visual spectacle. But don’t think Epic Skate parties are only for kids. Tanya says Epic recently hosted a group of party people celebrating their friend’s 40th birthday. What a great idea!
