Here are just a few of the schemes and scholarships your kids might want to apply for.
Emerging Athlete Pathways
Designed to support young athletes, this Queensland Government grant provides up to $1200 in financial assistance once every two calendar years for state, national and international events.
Lord Mayor’s Young and Emerging Artists Fund
This program supports young and emerging artists aged between 17 and 30, in a big to develop creatives who wish to join national or international training and development programs.
Australian Defence Force Future Innovators Award
Designed with STEM achievers in mind, this ADF award promises cash prizes of $220 for Year 10 students, and $550 for Year 12 students.
Queensland Conservatorium Competitions
The Queensland Conservatorium gives young musos the opportunity to apply for a variety of competitions and opportunities across a range of instruments.
Queensland Symphony Orchestra Young Instrumentalist Prize
This prize is available to students enrolled in a Queensland secondary school performing on an orchestral instrument (including saxophone) at a minimum standard of AMEB Grade 8.
Queensland Ballet Scholarships, Bursaries and Awards
Aspiring ballet dancers have a variety of prizes and awards available to them thanks to the Queensland Ballet, including opportunities for their program fees, academic and living expenses to be covered.
The Lester Prize Youth Awards
Young and aspiring artists are encouraged to apply for The Lester Prize’s Youth Awards, which gifts more than $3000 in art supplies, framing and art workshops to winners.
Prizes for aspiring teachers
There are a number of scholarships and awards available to students who strive to become teachers, including Aspiring Teacher Grants, the Pearl Duncan Teaching Scholarship and the Future Teachers Bursary.
TJ Ryan Memorial Medal and Scholarship
If your child has demonstrated exceptional leadership and academic excellence, they could be gifted one of ten TJ Ryan Memorial Medal and Scholarship valued at up to $10,000.
Peter Doherty Awards for Excellence
