Parents have a lot to thank Superheroes for as the likes of Iron Man, PJ Masks and the Marvel characters, currently, in Amazon’s top 8 of best-selling superhero books, have propelled a love of reading for school-aged children.

And, this week, with the Gold Coast going superhero crazy, kids now have a chance to bring out their inner superhero and even meet some of their favourite characters as they jump out from the pages of books and onto the streets of the Gold Coast.

Libraries on the Gold Coast have got into the action to celebrate Gold Coast Superhero Weekend 2018!

Kids can get involved in superhero story times, craft, animation and even get to meet the Transformers in a special show this Saturday!

Then, this Sunday 29 April, Broadbeach will become a visual feast as Australia’s only Supanova superhero parade takes over the streets of Broadbeach.

Watch BAFTA winner Peter Capaldi who plays The Doctor on BBCs longest running sci-fi show, Dr Who, lead the parade along with co- star Pearl Mackie, PJ Masks, Melbourne Transformers, Ghostbusters, Cosplay Chris, Wonder Woman, Herbie, and Betty get Better from our own Gold Coast Hospital Foundation.

Best of all the whole of the Gold Coast are invited to dress up and get into the action to watch the parade and have the chance of meeting their favourite superheroes.
