‘Poopy Pants and Potty Rants’ by Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas
Since retiring from his stellar AFL career with Collingwood and Carlton at the end of 2019, Dale ‘Daisy’ Thomas can now be found singing along to Frozen with his daughter. As such, a children’s book was his natural next step. ‘Poopy Pants and Potty Rants’ is a very funny look at the hits and misses of toilet training, that focuses on the delightful bond between a father and daughter.

He’s one of Australia’s favourite comedians, but recently, Peter Hellier has been leaving his mark on the world of children’s fiction. This latest instalment in his ‘Frankie Fish’ series follows Frankie as he travels back in time to the Gold Rush, in search of a cure for his granddad’s forgetfulness with his best friend and sidekick, Drew.

‘Do Not Open This Book’ by Andy Lee
While the series’ opener for funnyman Andy Lee came out in 2016, the hardcover has been re-released this year, so we’re still featuring him on this list. ‘Do Not Open This Book’ is full of twists, surprises and hilarious consequences. It has sold over one million copies worldwide, and with a number of spin-offs, there’s no doubt Andy was destined to be a children’s author.
