Got a toddler on the go-go-go? Keeping up with active littlies can be challenging – if they wriggle and writhe to get out of their pram, or screech and squawk in a standard stroller, that pleasant walk in the sunshine can turn into the Tenth Circle of Hell.

But the benefits of getting out and about are undisputed. Both science AND parents will tell you that physical activity, outdoor play, exploring nature and getting a daily dose of Vitamin D are good for the whole family. And the message is getting through – a recent survey commissioned by smarTrike found over 65 per cent of parents prefer products which encourage physical activity and outdoor play when compared to gaming consoles and indoor toys.

However, the survey also revealed that an alarming 30 per cent of Aussie kids under three are only heading outdoors to play three times a week, and 10 per cent only once a week. Making time can be tough, and one in five parents surveyed said their kids were unhappy in a pram/stroller as they would prefer to be active while on-the-go.

smarTrike spokesperson, Shavite Kazler, said clever purchases which encourage outdoor play can help parents create opportunities for their children to keep active.

The new smarTrike Explorer 5 Trikes in 1, transforms in five different ways ensuring toddlers are developing motor skills and coordination on the go. Suitable for kids aged 10 – 36 months, smarTrike grows with them until they are ready to ride a bike or scooter on their own, while still having all the important and practical benefits of a stroller.

“These versatile options can facilitate steering and pedalling to enable physical exertion for toddler who are too often idle or restless in a pram or stroller,” Shavite said.

With interchangeable parent or child control, a reclining seat, 360° full swivel wheel design, rear storage bag , UV protective canopy and inbuilt toy phone, it’s easy and fun for you AND your little explorer.
