PACIFIC FAIR // ART ACADEMY

Just because your kids are on school holidays, doesn’t mean their creativity has to be! Pacific Fair are putting on the ultimate workshops for your mini PAC-assos, with arts and crafts activities running all school holidays long. This week, your kids will get to create the cutest ice cream cones that look so tasty you’ll probably want to eat them! Kids will craft their very own pom pom ice cream creation, then fill in the cone to take home. Or, your kids can create beautiful paper dream catchers that they will love to make, just as much as they love to take then home and hang then in their room. Let their imaginations go crazy (and get some free time yourself!) at Little Paccas Art Academy, the best place to spend the Easter holidays. There is also a creative sticker art wall and a giant colouring in wall!

Marine biology is all about collecting information about the Gold Coast’s coastal and marine environments in the field. Come along to learn about what is involved in the research into mangroves, birds and microscopic wildlife! Help collect some real data and contribute to citizen science. GOLD COAST SUPERHERO WEEKEND
Friday April 12 thru to Sunday April 14 // Various locations, Broadbeach

Your friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man will weave a web of superhero magic over the Gold Coast this weekend when the Gold Coast Superhero Weekend comes to town. Set your alarm early on Sunday morning and grab a prime position for Australia’s only Supanova Superhero Parade which will, this year, be led by legendary Aussie actors Steve Bisley and Hugh Keays-Byrne in celebration of the 40th anniversary of Mad Max. And make sure you head along to the Supanova Superhero Parade afterparty from 10am ‘til 1pm, as well as the photo opportunities with some of the Parade superstars and iconic cars at Victoria Park and Surf Parade. It’s all part of one massive weekend that celebrates the increasing superhero phenomena which has been influenced by the Supanova Comic Con & Gaming Expo.

ARTLAB // HEADSHOTS WITH AARON CHAPMAN

Lights, camera, action! Gold Coast artist Aaron Chapman will show kids how to professionally photograph portrait subjects. In conjunction with Gold Coast Film Festival, Aaron will take the kids through technical lighting and camera set-up to produce head shots for willing subjects.
