El Camino Cantina is bringing a bespoke Tex-Mex experience to Byron Bay when it opens for business in the new retail, dining and entertainment precinct, Mercato on Byron. A four-day launch weekend from Thursday, April 25 to Sunday, April 28 features all-day, $2 tacos and happy hour from 4pm to 6pm each day. El Camino’s famous margaritas are served frozen or on the rocks, and in a rainbow of flavours: classic, strawberry, mango and tropical Red Bull. Guests can indulge in complimentary, refillable baskets of tortilla chips and salsas, served from converted Chevvy trunks, as they buckle in for a festive, music-fuelled Tex-Mex ride.

Ushering in a new era for the arts and culture in the City of Gold Coast, Bleach* 2019 delivers a jam-packed program – its most captivating to date. Now in its eight year, the annual festival will run until Sunday April 28, presenting 28 unique productions and 132 performances – including four world premieres, and three Queensland premieres – across the Gold Coast’s beaches, waterways, parklands and civic gathering places. Witness the city transform into a playground of contemporary performance and installation when its premier arts and cultural event takes over the city. This year, Bleach* will again celebrate the Gold Coast’s unique rituals and culture with an overflowing program that spans large-scale opera, award-winning dance, eye-popping cabaret, free live music, a thought-provoking political swimming carnival and a thrilling drive-in with a difference. Bleach* will be headlined by its centrepiece event, Verdi’s Requiem, on Saturday April 27 – a blockbuster music concert, directed by Opera Queensland Artistic Director Patrick Nolan, that will feature more than 150 musicians and singers under the stars and see HOTA’s outdoor stage transform into a fiery ceremonial sanctuary.

The 9th Asia Pacific Triennial of Contemporary Art brings a dedicated display just for kids! Check out the eight interactive artworks, hands-on and multimedia activities created by exhibiting artists – just for children and families. The display ties in with the themes of the exhibition, giving you and your little ones an opportunity to get even more out of the visit than you may have.
