EXHIBITION // EGYPTIAN MUMMIES: EXPLORING ANCIENT LIVES

Hurry – you don’t have much time left to see the ancient mummies of Egypt before they return to their tombs! With advanced CT scanning technology and more than 200 artefacts from the British Museum’s world-famous collection, the Queensland Museum’s latest exhibit gives visitors a rare insight into the lives of six individuals who lived in Egypt thousands of years ago. Learn about embalming and life on the Nile, see visualisations of coffins, ancient texts and the mummies themselves, and learn about how the scarab beetle and the family trail promised the ancient Egyptians eternal life. STRAWBERRY FESTIVAL

If there’s one thing to love about winter, it’s juicy winter berries – which is why we’re berry excited about the Strawberry Festival at Sandstone Point Hotel this weekend! Celebrate one of Queensland’s biggest farming industries with farm-fresh strawberry stalls, strawberry milkshakes, chocolate-covered strawberries and the all-strawberry drinks menu of the Strawberry Patch Bar. The day will include kids rides, live entertainment (including a performance from the in-demand cast of Paw Patrol) and a strawberry eating competition, all capped off with a fireworks display in the evening.
