EPIC 80’S PARTY

Ahh, the 80s, with their big hair, wild fashion and iconic tunes. Commemorate the Golden Age of pop culture – that brought us such stars as Madonna and movies like Footloose – with Epic Skate, taking a trip down memory lane with their Fluro 80’s Party! Entry is $12, and skate hire just $4, so don your best fluoro and hit the rink for a night of 80s-themed fun.
KING’S EARLY LEARNING CENTRE // LOGAN VILLAGE OPEN MORNING
Friday June 21, from 9am ‘til 11am // King’s Christian College, Logan Village
Since 1980, King’s Christian College has provided exceptional, affordable Christian education to children on the Gold Coast – now, they are launching a third campus at Anzac Avenue, Logan Village in January. Look around their Early Learning Centre and find out more about the soon-to-be-opened Primary School, speak to educators, students and Heads of Departments, and hear about their plans to grow a community-serving school in the heart of Logan Village. There will also be a bouncy castle, petting zoo and games and activities for your little ones.
SKATING AT FESTIVAL

If you’ve ever dreamt of a Canadian après-ski experience, dream no more – Skating At returns to Brisbane this winter, partnering with Skytrax to bring you the Air Canada Ice Rink, entertainment, icy-cool ice slide and delicious food and drinks. Each session is 45 minutes long and includes skate hire. Attendees can also grab onto a snow tube and enjoy a thrilling ice slide down The Runway or warm up with food at The Winter Market and Maple Leaf Bar.
WINTER SOLSTICE FESTIVAL

The Northey Street City Farm is abuzz with activity in preparation for this weekend’s festival. Catch the Climate Action Forum, performances by Formidable Vegetable Sound System and other local singer-songwriters and bands, as well as an education program with over 25 presenters across 5 tents covering diverse topics like Micro Gardening, Retrosuburbia, Greening the Street, Nature Play for Kids, Sound Healing, Yoga, Meditation and more. There’s also delicious food and drinks, but be sure to BYO cutlery and crockery as this is a zero waste event!
BURLEIGH WINTER SOLSTICE FESTIVAL

To celebrate the arrival of winter in the heart of the seaside suburb, you can enjoy pop-up events, including live music and lantern making workshops for kids, as well as a free community celebration including live music, BMX and skateboard stunt demonstrations, activities for the kids including face painting and inflatables, fire performances, lantern lighting, market stalls and delicious dining from local restaurants.
HOBIE KAYAK BREAM SERIES 11

Fishing aficionados and anglers alike will be excited about the return of the Hobie Kayak Bream Series 11 this weekend! This catch and release kayak only fishing competition brings fishermen and women from far and wide, starting and returning to the same location for a live weight in and release.

Calling all budding blood-suckers! Drax4Kids is looking for fresh blood (we mean, young talent), appealing to singing and dancing boys and girls who think they’re fit to join the Dracula’s family! Know a dynamic, quirky ten to thirteen-year-old who would fit right in? Bring them along to Dracula’s Cabaret (1 Hooker Boulevard, Broadbeach) from 10am with one song (verse and chorus) and a 30-second dance routine prepared. That’s it!
