Unless you’ve been living under a rock for the last five years, you’ve heard of – and probably experienced the joy of – The Color Run. A festival of fun, entertainment, dancing, selfie opps and a rainbow of colour, this is seriously good, down-and-dirty fun. Now, the Gold Coast is set to welcome The Color Run Tropicolor World Tour.
Celebrating five years of making it rain a multicolour happiness shower, The Color Run gurus set themselves a challenge to up the ante – and they have, with the Tropicolor World Tour. Think new zones, new colours and new scents. Yes, scents. The all-new Tropicolor Zone™ is the place to get your happy on, with a tropical array of colours and delicious island scents (seriously!) as you pass through the shade of palm trees, arches, and island-style music. Who needs Bali baby, when you’ve got Tropicolor on the Coast?
After your five kilometre run, there’s the Finish Festival – always a highlight of every Color Runner’s day. Rainbow Beach, an interactive island, features dancing, photo opps and massive colour throws.
Whether you’ve run before, or are a Color Run newbie, this is one awesome Sunday sesh to fire up your weekend.
Tim Wiche, National Marketing Manager says, “It doesn’t matter if it’s your first experience with The Color Run or if you’ve joined us before, the Tropicolor World Tour will be the most unforgettable 5k of your life.
“It’s less about achieving your best time, or where you finish; instead it’s all about having fun. We’re selling a tool to help you become something that is authentically you and the underlying message is, ‘the authentic you is something worth investing in.’”
Tickets are on sale NOW, so jump online and reserve your spot. Every Color Runner receives a limited edition Tropicolor race shirt, a finisher’s medal, embroidered headband, temporary tattoos and a packet of colour (in case you weren’t colourful enough!). Families get a discount and kids under five are free. What a great day out to get active and get messy with the kids. We guarantee there’s no workout like it – it’s so much fun, they won’t even realise they have just conquered 5kms.
What if I’m not a runner?
The Color Run is for every body. Runners and non-runners alike. It’s an untimed, non-competitive course. You could hop, skip and dance the whole way if you wanted.
Is the course pram/stroller/wheelchair friendly?
You bet. And children five years and under are FREE, so get the whole family involved.
Is the colour safe?
The paint powder is certified non-toxic and free of any heavy material, based on cornstarch and FD&C dyes. You’d want to keep it out of your eyes and avoid actively breathing it in, but the color throwers ensure they aim low (!), and you can always wear glasses/goggles or a bandana to protect your moneymaker.
