Got a mini prima ballerina in your midst? A dress-up box full of tutus? Pirouette your way to Queensland Ballet’s International Tutu Day celebrations this weekend.

This Sunday, 1 February the Thomas Dixon Centre, West End, becomes centre-stage for little ballet fans to dance, play and participate in free activities to ignite their love of this beautiful performance art.

CEO Anna Marsden says Queensland Ballet is thrilled to celebrate Tutu Day for the second year running after the success of its inaugural event last year.

“Everyone here at Queensland Ballet is very excited to bring Tutu Day back again this year,” said Ms Marsden.

“Bring along all of your little ballet fans for a fun-filled day of kids’ activities, dance workshops and behind the scenes glimpses into our fairytale world.”

Free children’s dance classes, a ‘stage magic’ room, jumping castles, face painting, a photo booth and costume displays are just some of the exciting activities planned. Enjoy the magic of ballet with your little one this weekend and check out Queensland Ballet’s 2015 Season Overview – from Peter Pan to Sleeping Beauty to The Nutcracker, this year’s program is perfect for junior ballet lovers!
