Remember the heady days of your teens, where Friday nights speed skating around your local roller rink were the highlight of your social calendar? Or the super-romantic couples skate, with mirror ball and power ballads pumping? Or falling on your butt to the glee of your friends – or bumping into the side rails when you lost control of your skates?

Rollerskating is BACK, big time! And it’s better and cooler than ever. Leanne McMahon, Owner/Director of Epic Skate says kids and parents are taking up skating in ever increasing numbers because it’s fun, it caters for all levels of ability, and families can do it together.

Feel the need for speed? Or want to mix up your workout? Try Skate Fit – an exercise class on wheels for adults. Think sit-ups, planks, endurance exercises and more, all on skates. And all you need to do to start is be able to skate independently (not holding onto the wall). Leanne says the hour-long class flies by as it’s so much fun. And just think what it’s doing for your legs and core!

Not a skater? Don’t miss out. Epic Skate’s Learn to Skate Three Star program is backed by the AIS, run by nine coaches across three levels, and takes you from absolute beginner to advanced.

Got the bug? Try one of the skate-based sports on offer at Epic Skate. From inline hockey to adult roller derby and figure skating, these clubs are some of the best in the biz, boasting Australian champions within their ranks. And no, you’re never too old to start – just ask Leanne, who says one of her figure skating club champions just won a Gold and Silver at a recent competition despite only learning a year ago. At the awesome age of 70 years young!

The Epic Skate crew are giving back to their community and offering a wheely fabulous prize package for local schools with a FREE class skate session! Get behind your school, tell your teachers, your parents, your neighbours and vote because the school with most votes wins! Plus 3 lucky voters will win a pair of Kandy Skates.

Two High Schools and 4 Primary Schools will WIN! (1 Primary School with under 200 students)

Head to their website to vote www.epicskate.com.au Voting closes 15 June, 2015.
