The temperature has dropped and for some it makes it a little bit harder to dress up. With these 5 winter finds you will fight the urge to snuggle up at home in your PJ’s.

First things first, everybody needs a leather jacket. It not only will keep you warm but its great for travel and can be worn during the day and at night. In my opinion softer leather is easier to wear and is less restricting. A black leather jacket is a great investment that you will truly have for many years.

Next on the list is a turtleneck knit. Something extremely basic but has an element of sophistication. They are perfect for layering under dressers, t-shirts or can be worn on their own with a jacket. Both long and short are great to have and very versatile. Opt for texture, either a ribbed knit or sheer skivvy.

Boots are probably the most important purchase for winter and I think where you should spend the money. After all, you don’t want to end up with blisters after a night of wearing them. Try a small heel as it will elongate your legs rather than completely flat. Lean toward buying leather instead of suede so you can wear your boots all year round.

If you’re daring enough or going somewhere cold enough choose a faux fur coat. Great to make a statement and will make you look ever so chic. There are plenty of great faux fur brands so stay away from the real thing. If wearing faux fur coat wasn’t enough, buy it in an animal print. After all it is one of winters hottest trends.

To polish off your winter wardrobe embrace the long line coat. Hemlines are going beyond the knee this season so buy coats that are less structured and are lighter in fabrics to get more wear out of it this season.
