Say goodbye to the sun hats, bikinis and tanned skin the colder months are coming.

Change of season is a great opportunity to clean out the wardrobe and get ready to buy those winter pieces you’ve been eyeing off. But before diving head first into all the new winter arrivals, here is an outline of the trends so you know what to shop for this season.

Strong Suiting is making waves like you wouldn’t believe. Instead of thinking corporate, dull suiting think oversized jackets, exaggerated proportions such as miniskirts and shorts with vests. Tweed is taking preference but can be in the form of a dress. Boots are a great option to style with and why not try something different and dress down your suit look with runners.

If you’re a little more daring this winter then Contemporary Clash trend is for you. Mix, match and take a risk. It’s about bright colours, electric prints and rowdy logo tees. More is more for this trend. Try colour blocking and adding a bag that is opposite colour to the dress you’re wearing. Don’t be afraid to buy that bright red leather jacket, you might get more wear out of it than you think.

If all of this is very overwhelming and you’re a plain Jane sort of lady (nothing wrong with that) Neutral Stance has your name all over it. Beige is the colour of the season and we want to see more of it. Try dressing head to toe in honey hues or add a deeper tone such as olive or black for accessories.
