Nature is not what it seems at World Upside Down, the very first exhibition to be hosted at HOTA’s new Children’s Gallery!

Bursting with secrets and surprises, World Upside Down encourages young (and young-at-heart) visitors to become curious and creative. Become immersed in interactive art and hands-on making activities by talented artists like Lowana-Skye Davies and Alinta Krauth, and design a future where we all belong.

In Davies’ interactive artwork you can bathe in a pool of light and sound, playing along with bodies of water including a rock pool, stream and a house pool. Then, find ways to rescure animals in Kauth’s digital animal-scape – here, you’re in charge and tasked with the chance to design ways to care for wildlife by changing their environment.

You can also create! Make your own bird box, a flying creature to take home with you (or put on display in the Gallery) or a paper leaf boat to race with friends.

While you’re there, keep an eye out for unexpected surprises – sometimes our natural world is not quite what it seems.
