Round 4 of the XCAT World Series is on this weekend on the Gold Coast and as well as the thrill of watching the XCATS reach speeds of up to 180kph, there’s also a myriad of off-water fun and excitement at XCAT Central in Doug Jennings Park.

XCAT Central is open from 11.00am – 4.00pm on both Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 August and includes a food bazaar with a delicious selection of vibrant food stalls; pit alley where fans can get up close and personal with an XCAT; loads of entertainment comprising of live music, belly dancing performances and classes, henna tattoos and various street art performances together with daily sessions from FMX – an extreme BMX demonstration; and an awesome kids area with rock climbing walls and a Segway course.

XCAT Ambassador and local IronWoman Courtney Hancock will be down at XCAT Central this weekend and she is hoping many Gold Coast locals will bring their family down and join her for a weekend of fun and excitement.

“XCAT Central is definitely the best place to be for Round 4 of the XCAT World Series.  In between the excitement of the actual XCAT races, families can come down and enjoy some fabulous activities.

“This is a FREE event and we are hoping that Gold Coasters will join us to see what XCAT Racing is all about and why it’s deemed as one of the most exciting powerboat races in the World,” said Hancock.

The XCAT’s will be in action on The Broadwater at the following times:
