From July 27 to July 28, at 10am and 1.30pm daily, zoom into HOTA for an immersive experience like no other. A fantastic and whimsical tale about a child’s desire to understand, ZOOOM offers the ultimate combination of enchanting lasers, projections and original music.
Inspired by the iconic children’s book Harold and The Purple Crayon, ZOOOM follows the story of a young child alone in her room, unable to sleep, but curious to understand the world around her.
Her transformational journey begins with dreamlike lasers and lights. She soon discovers that the dark is the perfect canvas for magical projections and, when adventure ensues, you’ll meet a community of people ready to help her along the way.
Powered by ‘child logic’ and the magic of science, ZOOOM is a voyage of wonderment. It will encourage young theatre goers to discover the possibilities of the dark and the power of curiosity, unpacking the science of animation from pixel to lines. Watch on in wonder as miniature worlds are blown up to be larger than life.
Note that ZOOM begins at home or in the classroom – HOTA invites visitors to bring a piece of dark to the show. Upon arrival, your dark will be exchanged for your own personal light – a little spark that will keep you safe and help guide you through the interactive sessions of the show.
